Sanditon | New Faces | Season 3

(bright orchestral music) - New characters are coming to Sanditon, and I think everyone's gonna love them.

They're great fun.

- I can only pray that we left our reputation in Bath.

- Oh, I packed mine in my trunk.

Was I not supposed to?

- The Montrose family are escaping a scandal.

Our father had gambled away all our fortune, and our mother was very eager to put the past behind us and start a fresh, new, clean slate in Sanditon.

- And get us hitched basically, to rich people.

- Your only purpose here is to restore our wealth by finding a wife of means, and producing a son and heir.

- I knew there was something I had to do.

- [Lady Montrose] I will not be mocked.

- Mother will not be mocked, Harry.

- En garde.

- We meet in series three, my brother.

- Samuel Colbourne, the older brother of Alexander Colbourne.

Xander!

He lives and works in London, and is possibly a little bit of a rogue.

He has the opportunity to return back to Sanditon, and gives him the opportunity to try and make amends with his brother.

They haven't spoken in nearly 10 years.

- Perhaps you're growing up.

- Well, I won't go that far.

- You're the man marrying Miss Heywood?

- I am indeed that lucky fellow.

Ralph is from Willingden and he and Charlotte grew up together, and our families have decided that we'd make a really good match.

I should hate to let you down.

- You have nothing to worry about.

- Now, a lot's happened with Charlotte that Ralph isn't aware of.

So when he follows her to Sanditon in season three, he's slowly discovering that something's not quite right.

You're not yourself here.

God, he's trying so hard and it's just not going his way and he doesn't fit in.

But everything he does, he does 'cause he just cares about Charlotte.
